Sanborn Man Arrested In Connection With Incident At Ex-Girlfriend’s Home

Sanborn, Iowa – A Sanborn man has been arrested on warrants for one felony and one misdemeanor count in connection with an incident that happened in the wee hours of January 30th of this year.

According to court records, about 1:00 am on January 30th, 26-year-old Nicholas Koontz of Sanborn is accused of breaking into his ex-girlfriend’s Sanborn home and making unwanted physical contact with her as she slept.

A charge of 2nd Degree Burglary, a Class C Felony for allegedly breaking into the residence, as well as a charge of Misdemeanor Assault for the unwelcome contact, were filed on Koontz of Sanborn on February 17th and a warrant for his arrest was issued two days later.

Online court records indicate Koontz was taken into custody on the warrant on Thursday of this week (March 4th). He posted bond on Friday morning and was released with a March 23rd court date in O’Brien County Court.
