Sheldon, Iowa — Sioux County authorities are investigating an attempted burglary and vandalism incident that occurred Monday morning southwest of Sheldon.
According to authorities, they need the public’s help in solving the crime, which occurred at the Northwest Iowa Landfill. Security video captured the individual entering a building at the landfill shortly after 5:00 Monday morning where he damaged welding equipment before leaving the area. Deputies say the welding equipment was moved to another location in the building, but was left behind when the perpetrator left.
