15-Year Old Charged In Residential Burglary

Sheldon, Iowa — A Sheldon teen faces burglary charges after allegedly entering an occupied home and stealing some personal possessions.

sheldon police pd car door logoSheldon Police say the incident happened Wednesday, February 18th, when the 15-year old male is accused of entering a home on 23rd Avenue in Sheldon through an unlocked door, while the home’s residents slept.  Police say the teen then stole undergarments from the home.

According to authorities, the teen was taken into custody on Monday, February 23rd, and charged with Burglary in the 2nd Degree.  Police say he was transported to the Youth Emergency Services Juvenile Detention Center in Cherokee, where he is currently being held.

Sheldon Police remind the public that a criminal charge is merely an accusation, and that all persons are innocent unless and until proven guilty in a court of law.
