Doon, Iowa — A Doon man has died and the semi he was driving was damaged in an accident near Doon on Monday.
The Lyon County Sheriff’s Office reports that about 4:40 PM, it is believed that 52-year-old Edwin Sneller of Doon was driving a semi on 260th street, when he had a medical issue behind the wheel, about a quarter mile east of Doon. That resulted in his semi entering the north ditch and traveling into the field where it came to a stop.
Sneller was pronounced dead at the scene.
The semi owned by Farmers Elevator Coop sustained approximately $4,000 in damage.
The Lyon County Sheriff’s Department was assisted by Doon Fire, Doon Rescue, and the Lyon County Ambulance.
