Sheldon, Iowa — The electrical programs at Northwest Iowa Community College in Sheldon have been rated #1 in the NATION by the website schools.com.
In their study of 198 total schools offfering electrical degrees across the nation, the website ranked NCC as #1.
We talked with NCC President Dr. Alethea Stubbe at a reception that was held Friday morning to celebrate the #1 ranking. She says the college is pleased to receive the recognition.
Dr. Stubbe says schools.com considered all four of NCC’s electrical programs in their 1st place ranking.
She says the various electrical programs have been a hallmark of NCC.
Stubbe credited much of the electrical programs’ success to the school’s top-notch instructors.
Northwest Iowa Community College is no stranger to national awards, having been the recipient of several over the past several years. In 2011, 2012, 2013, 2014 and 2016 NCC was recognized by the Aspen Institute as one of the best 150 Community Colleges in the nation. In 2017 NCC was recognized as the best two-year college in the state of Iowa by payscale.com. In 2016 bestcolleges.com ranked NCC #12 nationally for Premier National Online Associate Degree Program. In 2015 best colleges.com rated NCC the 3rd Best Online College In The U.S., and was rated in the Top 45 Colleges in the Nation by College Scorecard , U.S. Department of Education.
