Sanborn, Iowa — Sanborn’s annual summer celebration is called Railroad Days and is set to kick off Monday.
Railroad Days begins Monday evening with the “track Down The Train” treasure hunt, sponsored by Sanborn Savings Bank. The event begins Monday evening at 6:00. For more information, visit sanbornbank-dot-com.
On Thursday, from 5 to 7 pm, Iowa State Bank’s 16th Anniversary Celebration for the Sanborn location will take place at Yesterday’s Memories Museum, serving pork chops on a stick.
Friday is a day full of events at Railroad Days, including the Tri-State Truck/Car & Motorcycle Show, brought to you by Commercial Chaos for a Cure, an antique tractor ride, tractor pull, gospel concert and a pickup pull, all topped off by fireworks at dusk.
Saturday begins bright and early with the Mason’s Pancake Breakfast, Methodist Church Bake Sale, 5K race & 1 mile fun run/walk, the parade at 10:30 am, face painting, Bounce Around Inflatables, a free swim, kids pedal pull, jake brake contest, a Movie in the park at dusk and the Railroad Days Street Dance downtown from 9 to 1, featuring Rewinder.
There’s more in store for Railroad Days next Sunday with the Fire Department Omelet breakfast at the fire station, a Community Worship Service in the City Park and a Rails Cruise In beginning at noon.
