4th Of July Could Bring Severe Weather Threat

Northwest Iowa — Mother nature could provide some fireworks of her own this 4th of July. The National Weather Service says a strong cold front will make its way into the region during the day tomorrow (Tues.) bringing a threat of severe weather with it.

Forecasters say damaging wind and large hail would be the primary threats later Tuesday afternoon and evening, along with locally heavy rain. They say those spending the 4th of July holiday outdoors or attending fireworks shows should be aware of the situation and pay close attention to forecasts and any watches or warnings.

Much cooler temperatures will follow the system, with below normal temperatures the rest of the week. We’ll have much more with the weather coming up a little later.
