A Little Snow Causes Big Traffic Problems

Northwest Iowa — Two counties in the KIWA listening area issued no-travel advisories last (Monday) evening as the first winer storm of the season blew through northwest Iowa.

Kerry Hanko, who is a meteorologist with the National Weather Service in Sioux Falls, says the little bit of snow that fell over northwest Iowa Monday evening caused big problems.

Hanko says Monday evening’s weather was quite a departure from the November weather we’d become used to.

She talks about what we can expect in the coming days.

According to a Nixle alert from the Sioux County Sheriff’s Office, their deputies investigated thirty traffic accidents in a 4-hour period during Monday night’s storm.
