Alvord, Iowa — Another summer festival is coming our way this weekend — in the town of Alvord in Lyon County.
According to Lyon County Economic Development, Alvord Days will start on Friday with softball versus Lester at the park. Afterward, there will be live music by the Thrillbillies, a food truck, and a beer garden.
On Saturday, there’s a volleyball tournament, brunch at the community center, a parade at 1:00, and water fights by the church and the beer garden opening, both at 2:00. After that, they tell us there’s a bag tournament, the annual fire department burger feed, and inflatables at the park.
The evening activities include music by Rock River Entertainment and a fireworks show memorial to Daniel Boon.
