Alvord, Iowa — Saturday, June 3rd, will be a day filled with fun in Alvord.
Organizers tell us that Alvord Days will begin at 9 a.m. at the Community Center with breakfast which will be served for a free-will donation. The breakfast is provided by American State Bank and ends at 10:30 a.m. All proceeds will go to the ABC Committee. The committee will use the proceeds to help with a new Community Center.
From 9 a.m. until 3 p.m., the Church Flea Market will be going on with 40 vendors. Food trucks will also be around the flea market.
They tell us the Volleyball Tournament will begin at 9 a.m. at the park. It will be north of the ball diamond.
At 11 a.m., there will be a parade. If you haven’t registered to be in the parade ahead of time you may do so the day of the parade at the fire department between 9:30 a.m. and 10:45 a.m.
The Beer Garden will open at 1 p.m. This will be at the park and there will also be yard games and inflatables at the park at the same time.
We’re told that at 3 p.m., Mr. Twister will come to the park and make balloon creations for the kids.
At 3:30 p.m., there will be kids’ games at the park. These games include sack races, water balloon toss, and more.
Between 4:30 p.m. and 7 p.m., the Fire Department will have its Annual Burger Feed.
From 5 to 8 p.m., Rock River Entertainment will DJ at the Beer Garden. After 8 p.m. there will be karaoke until midnight.
At 7 p.m., the Lester Softball League will be at the ball diamond.
Starting at 9:45 p.m. will be the Daniel Boon Memorial Fireworks Show.
Again, Alvord Days will be this Saturday, June 3rd, and will go on all day.
