Alvord Woman In Jail On Felony Assault Charge

Rock Rapids, Iowa — An Alvord woman is behind bars in the Lyon County jail after an incident in Rock Rapids on Wednesday, October 25th.

The Lyon County Sheriff’s Office says they received a report that night of suspicious activity that was reported to have occurred at the Four Seasons Motel in Rock Rapids. The report was that a male occupant of the room had been assaulted.

The female occupant, 57-year-old Vanette Todd of Alvord, was charged with Willful Injury, a Class C Felony; and Assault with Intent to Cause Injury, an Aggravated Misdemeanor.

Todd is being held in the Lyon County Jail in lieu of an $8000 cash or surety bond. The Sheriff’s Office says the case is still under investigation.
