Sutherland, Iowa — Seasons Center for Behavioral Health and Camp Autumn are hosting their 3rd Annual Ice Fishing Tournament and Fundraiser at Camp Autumn on Saturday, February 12, 2022.
Stephanie Pohar, Marketing and Events Coordinator at Seasons Center, says that the event is open to the public. There is no registration fee, however, free-will donations will be accepted. Registration is encouraged but not required. She tells us you can visit https://fb.me/e/1lhv0E6kn to learn more.
Pohar says the first 50 kids (age 15 and under) will receive a free ice fishing rod and reel combo courtesy of the Iowa Great Lakes Fishing Club. She says prize categories will be based on length for bass, crappie, and bluegill/other panfish.
Mud on Main Coffee House and Roastery, from Cherokee, will be on-site to provide coffee and hot cocoa throughout the tournament and the Spencer Hy-Vee will be providing a chili lunch. All money raised goes towards scholarships for children to attend Camp Autumn, a therapeutic camp for children in northwest Iowa.
Pohar tells us the event is for the competitive angler, the family who wants to try something new, and everyone in between. She says they’re excited to see all ages and all skill levels enjoying some recreational time on Camp Autumn’s private lake.
The event is supported by the Iowa Great Lakes Fishing Club, who will be coordinating and judging the tournament. They will also be providing ice shacks, poles, and gear for individuals or families who do not have ice fishing equipment. Equipment will be available on a first-come, first-serve, rotating basis.
