Ashton, Iowa — Things are beginning to get back to normal at the Ashton Post Office.
On March 15th the Ashton Post Office was temporarily closed, due to water intrusion into the building from flooding in the area, according to Postal Service officials.
Officials now tell us that operations have resumed at the Ashton Post Office as of March 26, 2019. They report that the building is safe to occupy and they say they look forward to serving their customers again. The postal service apologizes for the disruption caused by this issue.
The Ashton Post Office is open Monday through Friday from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. and Saturdays from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. The Post Office Box lobby is open 24 hours.
Postal Service officials want people to know that the Postal Service receives no tax dollars for operating expenses and relies on the sale of postage, products, and services to fund its operations.
