Ashton Woman Wins $300,000 Lottery Prize

Sheldon, Iowa — An Ashton woman has won a $300,000 lottery prize on a ticket bought in Sheldon.

The Iowa Lottery reports that Christy Burrington of Ashton won the first top prize in the Iowa Lottery’s “Ruby Red Crossword” scratch game. She purchased her winning ticket at Stammer Liquor at 615 Second Avenue in Sheldon, and claimed her prize Thursday at lottery headquarters in Clive.

The lottery says Ruby Red Crossword is a $30 scratch game that features 16 top prizes of $300,000, 47 prizes of $10,000 and overall odds of 1 in 2.29. For more information about this game, and the number of prizes still available, visit ialottery.com.
