Board Sets Rental Rates For Crossroads Pavilion

Events Center 8Sheldon, Iowa — The Crossroads Pavilion Board met Tuesday morning at 7:00, and among the items on their agenda was the approval of Rental Fees for the facility.

We talked with Sheldon City Manager Sean Hutchison, who told us that the Board “arrived at fees that speak well of the product that we have to offer.”  Hutchison called the Rental Rates “competitive” with other venues in the area.

The Board also approved landscaping plans for the facility.  The landscaping was not part of the original construction contract, so last week the City Council gave Hutchison the discretion of approving the Board’s landscaping plans at a cost not to exceed $50-thousand.

The agenda also contained an item called, “Discussion and Approval of Other Items Needed For The Opening of the Event Center.”  Hutchison says there were none of those issues at this meeting, but he’s fairly certain things will come up as the time to open the center approaches.

Tuesday’s meeting was also the first one for the Crossroads Pavilion’s new Manager, Brittany Behrends.  She officially began her duties Monday (April 24th).
