Spirit Lake, Iowa — A Spirit Lake man is charged with attempted murder after a shooting on Thursday in Milford.
The Milford Police Department was originally called to GrapeTree Medical Staffing shortly before 8:30 Thursday morning where an unnamed female victim was found with multiple gunshot wounds in the parking lot. She was taken to Lakes Regional Healthcare in Spirit Lake and later airlifted to a hospital in Sioux Falls where she remains in critical condition.
The suspected shooter, identified as 25-year-old Christian Goyne-Yarns, was taken into custody without further incident about an hour later in Spirit Lake before he was taken to the Dickinson County Jail and held without bond according to online records.
Police say the incident remains under investigation by a number of local and state agencies with additional charges possible.

Milford, Iowa — Court documents are shedding some additional light into a shooting earlier Thursday in Milford that seriously injured a woman.
According to KUOO Radio, authorities were called to the parking lot at Grapetree Medical Staffing a little after 8:00 am, after getting a report of a woman who had been shot. The documents say Christian William Goyne-Yarns has been charged with attempted murder for allegedly shooting the woman at least twice. The woman identified Goyne-Yarns as the alleged shooter when she called 911.
The shooting resulted in several area businesses and the Okoboji schools going into lockdown for a time. Those were lifted after Goyne-Yarns was apprehended. He’s being held in the Dickinson County Jail.
Authorities have not released any other details or a possible motive.

Milford, Iowa — Authorities are investigating a shooting that reportedly took place a little after 8:00 am Thursday morning at the parking lot of Grapetree Medical Staffing in Milford.
According to KUOO Radio, initial reports from the scene indicated a woman sustained multiple gunshot wounds, and that some spent nine millimeter casings were found. There’s been no official word on her status.
We’ve learned a suspect in the case has been taken into custody. There’s no word as to the identity of that person or possible motive.
Grapetree Medical staffing, Okoboji schools and several businesses were placed in lockdown shortly after the incident. The lockdowns have since been lifted.
The Iowa Division of Criminal Investigation is assisting in the ongoing investigation.

Milford, Iowa — Authorities in Milford have responded to the call of a shooting Thursday morning at a Milford business.
KUOO Radio reports that the took place around 8:20 or so Thursday morning at the parking lot of Grapetree Medical Staffing in Milford. Initial reports from the scene indicate a woman sustained three gunshot wounds, and that some spent nine millimeter casings were found.
According to KUOO, Grapetree Medical staffing, Okoboji schools, and some other area businesses were placed in lockdown shortly after the incident. Spirit Lake schools, which originally were having a two hour late start due to the cold, called off classes altogether.
KUOO says a suspect has now been taken into custody and all lockdowns have been lifted.
