Changes To Orange City Parking Ordinance Goes Into Effect Sunday

Orange City, Iowa — Residents of Orange City recently received a notice from the City of Orange City regarding changes to that city’s off-street parking ordinance, that will take effect this weekend.

The City of Orange City says the changes include that a maximum of four vehicles can be stored on a residential zoned lot in that community. The City says that excludes any vehicles stored in an enclosed garage or storage building.

In addition, the notice says temporary parking in excess of four vehicles is permitted for up to ten days, when the vehicles are in road-ready condition.

The notice Orange City residents received defines vehicle as any vehicle road-ready and/or temporarily disabled motor vehicle. According to the notice, this does not include boats, campers and trailers.

The notice says residential parking spaces in Orange City shall be surfaced with Portland cement, concrete, asphaltic concrete material or equivalent hard surface; or two-inch thickness pit run, or one-inch screened gravel.

Notice mailed from the City of Orange City to its residents says that, for a full copy of the new ordinance, or if you have questions, you should contact Orange City’s Code Enforcement Officer, Kurt Frederes.

Orange City’s new parking ordinance goes into effect Sunday, July 1st.
