Sheldon, Iowa — There are two separate summer lunch programs for kids in Sheldon, and changes have been made to one of them for this year.
The Sheldon Community Schools Summer Lunch Program will make some changes for this summer due to changes in federal regulations, according to Sheldon Community Schools Food Service Director Cheryl Heitritter.
She says the Sheldon Community Schools summer lunches will be served beginning Tuesday May 31st.
Heitritter says the school district will provide transportation for students to attend the lunches. She says they’ll utilize the same bus stop locations that the District uses during the school year.
In addition to the Sheldon Schools Summer Lunch Program, there is a separate program operated by the Sheldon United Methodist Church. Those meals are served daily throughout the summer at the Methodist Church, beginning Wednesday, June 1st.
