Sheldon, Iowa — During a recent meeting of the Sheldon City Council, Mayor Katricia Meendering mentioned, in passing, that the City is having some issues with finding people willing to volunteer to serve on various City boards and committees.
We talked to Mayor Meendering, who told us that, yes, there are some City boards and committees that have unfilled vacancies.
Meendering offered some examples of committees in need of volunteers.
In addition, the Mayor says there are two openings on the Cemetery Board, which meets “as needed”. She says the Board of Adjustment also has one “county” opening. That group meets as needed, as well.
If you’d like more information on City boards and committees that need volunteers, or if you wish to volunteer for one of the committees the Mayor mentioned, just call the Sheldon City Office at 712-324-4651.
