Sheldon, Iowa — The Sheldon Ministerial Association is again organizing Coats For Kids, which will start a few weeks from now.
Pastor Ken Snyder with the Ministerial Association tells us about the program.
He says Campus Cleaners is also cleaning the used coats at no charge. Snyder tells us how it works.
The Sheldon Community Building is right across the street from the KIWA Studios on 9th Street in downtown Sheldon. Snyder says they will accept coats for kids and teens. In the past, they have also accepted caps and mittens but they are focusing on coats now, so they’re not looking for caps or mittens. They also are not looking for lightweight coats like spring or fall outerwear — just winter coats.
Again, the dropoff dates are from October 17th to November 14th, and you can drop off the coats at Top Notch Stitching in Sheldon. And if your kids or teens are in need of a coat, you can pick one out from 9:00 until 10:30 on Saturday morning, November 19th in the lower level of the Sheldon Community Services Center.
