Company Plans To Open Facility In Spencer To Provide Healthcare & Dental Services To Underserved Populations

Spencer, Iowa — Fort Dodge-based Community Health Center has announced plans to open a Federally Qualified Health Center in Spencer.

CEO Renae Kruckenberg tells us they offer primary care, dental care, mental health services and more to underserved populations who otherwise couldn’t afford them. She says they accept Medicare, Medicaid, most major insurance and offer a sliding fee scale.

Kruckenberg says they’ve been seeing a significant amount of people from our area at their Fort Dodge location and decided to open a facility in northwest Iowa.

She says they hope to start offering some limited services in Spencer in the next few months.

Kruckenberg says the new facility in Spencer will also bring some job opportunities with it.

The facility in Spencer will operate under the umbrella of Community Health Center of Fort Dodge, Inc., doing business as Community Health Center of Spencer. Their Fort Dodge location has been in operation since 2006. Community Health Center also has facilities in Dayton, Mason City, Eagle Grove and Clarion.
