Iowa Great Lakes Area — There’s some construction coming up in the Iowa Great Lakes area that you should know about if you plan on heading that way. But the good news is, if all goes according to plan, it should be done before the summer vacation period.
That’s from Dakin Schultz, a transportation planner for the Iowa Department of Transportation. He says the construction will be going through the heart of the lakes area.
He says it’s a $174,000 project, and the contractor will be 10-Point Construction out of Denison. It’ll start a little way south of the south Casey’s on Highway 71, over the East Lake/West Lake bridge, and to a point north of McDonalds, near Brooks Golf Course, for a total of a little over two and a half miles.
