Council Approves $3.5-Million In General Obligation Bonds At Wednesday Meeting

Sheldon, Iowa — When the Sheldon City Council met in regular session Wednesday, they approved the issuance of General Obligation Capital Loan Notes in the amount of $3.5-million. City Manager Sam Kooiker explains what those funds will be used for.

Family Dollar/Dollar Tree has purchased the property that formerly housed Digital Plus, on Park Street, just west of the Washington Avenue intersection, and intends to build a new Dollar Tree store on that site. At Wednesday’s meeting, the Council approved a TIF application from the company. Kooiker tells us more.
