Sheldon, Iowa — The Sheldon City Council will hold a special meeting this Wednesday, September 9th.
The primary purpose of the meeting is to approve two resolutions for submission to the State of Iowa. The first is a request for reimbursement from the CARES Act for COVID-19 expenses of up to $120,781.68. The other item is the routine road use tax report that the city wants to send at the same time as the CARES resolution.
The third item of business will be the swearing in of Reserve Police Officer Shane Nellis. Also, City Manager Sam Kooiker will report details on the sale of Sheldon’s old pumper fire truck for $59,500 to the City of Everly, which will be used to pay down the principal on the loan that was used to buy Sheldon’s new fire truck last year.
Wednesday’s meeting will begin at 4:30 in the upper level of the Sheldon Community Services Center.
