Council To Hold Multiple Public Hearings During Wednesday Meeting

Sheldon, Iowa — When the Sheldon City Council holds their regular mid-month meeting this Wednesday (March 15th), they are scheduled to hold multiple public hearings.

A public hearing and bid award is scheduled on the 2023 Street Paving Project, a public hearing is scheduled on rezoning of multiple parcels of real estate around Sheldon, and the Council is expected to set the date and time for a public hearing on the development of the property on 7th Street that was formerly occupied by Bethel Reformed Church.

In other action, the Council’s “Consent Agenda,” which is normally decided with a single vote, includes a pair of resolutions on the Airport Runway Project at the Sheldon Regional Airport, a Burn Permit to allow the Sheldon Fire Company to conduct controlled burns of two structures on the campus of Village Northwest Unlimited, along with a resolution to hire an additional Sheldon Police Officer, which will bring the department back to their full complement of 8 full-time sworn officers.

Wednesday’s meeting will be called to order at 4:30 pm  in Council Chambers at the Sheldon Community Services Center. If you can’t attend in person, you can watch via YouTube Live.
