County Fair Season Begins In Sioux County

Sioux Center, Iowa — County Fair season begins in earnest Tuesday, July 11th when the Sioux County Youth Fair opens it’s gates for the 2017 fair.

After some livestock shows, as well as the Queen and Little Miss Coronation over the weekend, the fair’s full schedule begins Tuesday, with the 4-H Dog Show, 4-H Static Exhibit Judging, 4-H Poultry Show, Clothing judging, and more.

The Sioux County Youth Fair continues Wednesday with the Fair Board Breakfast Fundraiser, along with more livestock shows, and Best Pie Contest among the activities.  Thursday begins with another Fair Board Breakfast Fundraiser, along with a full day of judging, culminating in the Sprint Car Races Thursday evening.

Friday, July 14th will be Kids Day at the Sioux County Youth Fair, and will feature a Kids Pedal Tractor Pull, Special K’z the Clown, inflatables, mini-train rides, pony rides, petting zoo, and a Pork Feed by the Pork Producers Friday evening.  Friday evening’s entertainment begins with a Greased Pig Contest at 6:30, the Triumphant Sound Quartet at 7:30, and an Outdoor Family Movie, Zootopia, showing at 9:00.

Saturday, July 15th will be the last full day of events at the Sioux County Youth Fair, and will feature more 4-H animal shows, as well as inflatables, mini-train rides, petting zoo, and more.  The County Fair Cook-Off will be held at 5:30, with the Master’s Voice Quartet performing at 7:30 Saturday evening.  From 8:00 to midnight will be a concert by Locked and Loaded, to round out the fair’s last full day.

All this and more taking place, starting Tuesday, at the 2017 Sioux County Youth Fair.
