Sheldon, Iowa — A popular Sheldon eatery is closing its doors at the end of business today (Tuesday, March 16th.)
Dairy Dandy owner Chelsea Hakeneis tells KIWA that she is closing the restaurant and that it will remain closed until it can be reopened by the original owners.
Hazel Sundstrom tells KIWA that this will be the second time she and her husband have gotten the restaurant back after selling it to retire. She says they’ll be reopening Dairy Dandy, operated by the Sundstrom family, within a few weeks, once their new operating licenses and permits are issued.
Sundstrom says her daughter, Jennifer, will be moving back to Sheldon to manage the business with the assistance, at least for a while, of her dad Bob.
