Northwest Iowa — The entire week will be filled with below zero wind chills in most areas.
The coldest temperatures and wind chills will focus themselves later this week. Winds chills may fall as low as -40 in some locations Thursday, Friday, and into the upcoming weekend.
Bitterly cold conditions continue for much of the upcoming week ahead. We’ll have occasional bouts of light snow, but amounts in most areas will just be a dusting. Wind chills through the first half of the week will average between 0 and -20, with the coldest reading during the overnight hours. Winds and snow chances increase by Thursday and Friday, with increasing potential for light snow accumulations. Temperatures will also begin to fall, with dangerously cold wind chills settling across the region into the upcoming weekend.
