Daylight Saving Time Ends This Weekend

clock 2 O'ClockNorthwest Iowa — Those of us here in northwest Iowa, as well as most of the rest of the United States, will be able to get an extra hour’s sleep this weekend.

Daylight Saving Time will come to and end for 2016 at 2:00 am this Sunday, November 6th, which means it’s time for us to “fall back” to Central Standard Time.

Sleep medicine specialists say it will probably take the body some time to adjust to the time change, but the transition in the fall is usually easier than the one in spring when we have to get used to getting up what seems like “an hour earlier” for a few days.

So, to avoid being an hour early for church this Sunday morning, remember to set your clocks back one hour before heading to bed Saturday night.

In addition, the end of  Daylight Saving Time is also a good time to change the batteries in your home’s smoke detectors to make sure they’re ready in case you should ever need them.
