Sheldon, Iowa — Like most government offices, the area Driver License Examining Stations are closed due to the coronavirus pandemic. All of the stations in our area will reopen at some point, with the exception of the Driver License Station at Northwest Iowa Community College in Sheldon.
In an email, Sioux County Driver License Department Head Jill Lode writes that, once it is safe for the examining stations to open, examiners will be in Orange City at the Sioux County Treasurer’s Office on Monday and Friday from 8:00 to 4:30 each day, and at the Centre Mall in Sioux Center from 8:00 to 4:30 on Tuesdays and Thursdays. Driver License Examining Stations in Sioux County will be closed on Wednesdays. These schedules will take effect once the pandemic has passed, and NO examiner stations are open at the moment.
Lode says Sheldon will no longer have a Driver License station. She says the other option for Sheldon area residents is the O’Brien County Treasurer’s Office in Primghar, which will be open Monday through Friday once the coronavirus pandemic has passed.
One other option, for some drivers, is license renewal online, at the DOT’s website. You can find that website by CLICKING HERE.
