Sheldon, Iowa — It’s time once again to start thinking about running, walking, or rolling in the annual Village Northwest Unlimited fundraiser.
The Village’s Lisa Johnson says registration is now available for their 11th Annual Benefit Run, Walk and Roll to be held on Saturday June 4, 2016 on the Village Northwest Unlimited Campus in Sheldon. She tells us what it’s all about.
She says those who register early get a break on the registration fee.
Johnson tells us that you can register online at www.allsportcentral.com or contact Samantha Waterstone at Village Northwest Unlimited by calling 712.324.5416 or emailing samanthaw@villagenorthwest.org for a registration form.
She says that the 5K and 10K will utilize chip timing, which provides fast and accurate finish results.
Johnson says that the 1-mile walk and wheelchair roll events are not timed.
Johnson says medals will be awarded to the top 3 finishers in each age group ranging from ages 13 and under to 80 and over for the 5K and 10K. Overall male and female winners in the 5K and 10K run will also receive a trophy. All registered participants will receive an event t-shirt.
Johnson says they need runners, but they also need people to sponsor participants with their donations.
In addition the event is sponsored by a number of local businesses.
