O’Brien County, Iowa — O’Brien County Economic Development Director Jared Johnson is trying to keep people informed on what to do before, during, and after a flood, now that we’ve had a record-breaking flood this summer.
He tells us there are lots of resources available on the O’Brien County EMA Website at obrienema.org.
He says there are also things you can do to prevent a nastier surprise.
Johnson says if you’ve already started on repair work, that does NOT mean it’s too late to apply for FEMA assistance.
He tells us there is some time before the deadline, but it’s not open-ended either.
FEMA’s hotline is 800-621-3362. Their website is disasterassistance.gov. For more information, including the citizenship PDF and other helpful PDF documents, you can visit obrienema.org. You can also call O’Brien County EMA for assistance.
