Sheldon, Iowa — The deadline to submit your entry form for Sheldon’s Holiday Parade of Lights and Jeep Parade is next Friday, November 12th.
Sheldon’s 2nd Annual Parade of Lights will take to the streets of downtown Sheldon Saturday evening, November 27th at 5:30 pm, with parade entries lining up at 4:30.
Again this year, as part of the Holiday Parade of Lights, Ron Drenkow Motors and KIWA are sponsoring the Holiday Jeep Parade, with the top Jeep entry winning a prize and bragging rights. So Jeep owners are encouraged to light up your machine and enter it in the parade!
To take part in the Holiday Parade of Lights, each entry must include lights and music is encouraged. You’ll need a sign or banner to identify your group or business. They ask that you refrain from having Santa as part of your entry because he will be the final entry in the parade and, after all, the jolly old elf can’t be in two places at once. Finally they say there is to be no throwing of candy or other items from a moving entry. Please have walkers go alongside and hand out anything you wish to hand out.
