Sheldon, Iowa — The Sheldon Excellence for East Carnival is scheduled for this weekend. Samantha Haupert is one of the people organizing the event. She tells us that some references had the time wrong. She says it is an evening event this time.
And that’s not the only change. She tells us it’s a different time of year for the carnival as well.
She gives us an idea of some of the new activities this year.
She highlights some other fun opportunities.
Haupert tells us that Excellence For East is like a Parent-Teacher Association, and this is their big fundraiser that they have every two years.
The carnival is on Saturday (Sept. 25) from 5:00 to 7:30 p.m. at East Elementary, but again, you’re encouraged to park at the high school and take the “hayride shuttle” to East Elementary.
Also, families of children with sensory needs are invited to enjoy a quiet, less-crowded atmosphere while taking in all the fun of the carnival. The “Quiet Carnival” will be from 4:00 until 5:00 p.m., before the regular carnival. Spots are limited. You are asked to email kim.sneiderman@sheldonschools.com or samantha.fox@sheldonschools.com to reserve your spot for the “Quiet Carnival.”
