Expert: As A Whole, Northwest Iowa Crops Doing Pretty Well; Moisture Adequate

Le Mars, Iowa — We had a chance recently to talk with Iowa State University Extension Crop Field Specialist Leah Ten Napel about the growing season that has recently begun.

She tells us that it would be difficult to put one label on the condition of crops in northwest Iowa at this time.

She tells us about moisture levels.

Ten Napel says even the subsoil moisture is looking quite good in most locations.

She says she has seen some prevented or delayed planting, but it’s variable by area and even by field.

We asked if she had any advice at this time.

She says if you have any questions or need any help, to reach out to an extension agronomist, a retail agronomist, or your insurance agent to help you make those critical decisions.
