Expert: Closing Of Tri-State Livestock In Sioux Center Should Have Positive Impact On Sheldon Livestock

Northwest Iowa — A facility that has stood as the place to buy and sell livestock for generations, has closed. The last gavel has fallen at Tri-State Livestock in Sioux Center.

Mike Koedam is one of the people that ran Tri-State as well as Sheldon Livestock and Sioux Falls Regional Livestock. He talks about why Tri-State Livestock in Sioux Center was closed.


We asked Koedam what affect the Sioux Center closing would have on the Sheldon facility.


Koedam says while some kinds of livestock are dominated by big corporations and contracts, not all livestock works that way in northwest Iowa.


Koedam tells us that they think the future remains bright for Sheldon Livestock and Sioux Falls Regional Livestock.
