Find Your Sample Ballot & Polling Place Here For November Election

Northwest Iowa — The deadline has passed to request to vote-by-mail for the city and school election coming up on November 7th, but you can still vote in person at the auditor’s office, or at the polls on election day. Plus some areas have satellite voting as well. Also, if you requested an absentee ballot before October 23 at 5:00 p.m., they need to be received in the auditor’s office by 8:00 p.m. on Election Day.

Several people will be running for mayor, city council, municipal hospital trustee, school board, and community college board positions in the four-county area. Plus, there will be a number of ballot questions.

Sheldon School District voters will decide on a $19.16 million bond issue. South O’Brien voters will be asked to approve a revenue purpose statement. In the Boyden-Hull School District, voters will be asked to approve a revenue purpose statement. Voters in the Rock Valley Community School District will be asked to approve a $25 million bond issue. Voters in the West Sioux School District will be asked to approve a $15.5 million bond issue. George/Little Rock voters will also be voting whether to accept a revenue purpose statement, and West Lyon voters will also be voting on a $19.8 million bond issue. Harris-Lake Park voters get two questions: should an $18.6 million bond issue be approved, and do they approve of a tax to pay off bonded indebtedness.

Osceola County voters will be asked to approve a $5 million bond issue for work on the Law Enforcement Center. And voters in the City of Sioux Center will be asked if the City should increase the hotel and motel tax to seven percent from the current five percent.
