UPDATE: Golden Easter Egg Winners Claim Prize

Easter Egg WinnerSheldon, Iowa — The family who found this year’s SCDC Golden Easter Egg claimed their prize at the SCDC Office Friday morning.

Reese Van Meeteren, along with his sister, Peyton, and mom Tricia were presented with the prize of $600 in Sheldon Dollars.  Tricia told KIWA that her family thought this might be there year to find the egg.

Reese Van Meeteren was the family member who actually found the egg in its hiding spot, and he said when he saw it he couldn’t believe his eyes.

Tricia talks about what led them to the area where they found the egg.

Even though Reese was the person who actually found the egg, he is sharing his winnings with his mom and sister, since they were searching as a team.  All say they have no definite plans for their winnings, but Tricia says Reese has been talking about investing his share…..in Legos.

Sheldon, Iowa — Sheldon’s Golden Easter Egg Contest came to an end Wednesday afternoon when the egg was found.

 

According to Sheldon Chamber Director Shanelle Matus, the egg was turned in picnic tableWednesday afternoon by Reese Van Meeteren.  The egg had been hidden under a picnic table in the park, located next to the Dental Office on 9th Street in Downtown Sheldon..

Van Meeteren, along with his mom Tricia, and sister Peyton, brought the egg into the SCDC office around 3:30 Wednesday afternoon to claim his prize.
