Governor Appoints Three Area Residents To State Boards and Commissions

Northwest Iowa — A trio of northwest Iowans have been appointed to various state boards and commissions by Iowa Governor Kim Reynolds.

Governor Reynolds appointed Sheldon City Manager Sam Kooiker as one of three people to the Iowa State Civil Rights Commission. Joining Kooiker are Dennis Mansdranger of Clive and Marcelena Ordaz of Eldridge.

Former Lyon County Engineer, Laura Sievers of Rock Rapids was named to the Engineering and Land Surveying Examining Board, along with Lisa VanDenBerg ofJohnston.

Kelly Niewenhuis of Primghar was one of two appointed by the Governor to the Renewable Fuel Infrastructure Board. Reynolds also named Niki DePhillips of Polk City to that board.

All of the appointments require confirmation by the Iowa Senate.
