Sheldon, Iowa — Iowa Governor Reynolds made a stop at Northwest Iowa Community College earlier this week to tour the recently constructed Applied Technology Building and the Diesel and Automotive labs.
Some of the highlights of the tour were showcasing a few of the Accelerated Career Education (ACE) funded campus building projects, credit and non-credit programs funded through the Employer Innovation Fund, Summer Youth Internship funded through the Future Ready Iowa initiative, and some of the Concurrent Enrollment programming (high school students taking college courses) within the Applied Technology Programs.
The Governor toured the recently constructed labs with some of the NCC Administration and President of the Board of Trustees, Adam Besaw. She also met with students and instructors from the Diesel Technology and Automotive & Light Duty Diesel programs. She took time to shake the students’ and instructors’ hands and ask them questions about their programs.
