Northwest Iowa — Halloween is kicking off with many activities coming to our area starting October 27th.
The Sibley Candy Dash will be October 27th at 6 p.m. This is when children ages six to ten can go to sponsored businesses for candy.
The Sheldon Public Library will be having a Halloween Costume Party for teens and tweens on October 28th at 2 p.m. It will be an afternoon of fun with a mystery to solve. These kids are encouraged to wear a costume. Please call 324-2442 to pre-register and choose a character. You can also pre-register online at www.sheldon.lib.ia.us.
In Sheldon there will also be the Prairie Arts Halloween Carnival on October 29th at 12:30-3:00 p.m. This will take place at the Prairie Arts Historical Park. There will be games, prizes and concessions.
Rock Rapids will be having their Halloween Parade on October 31st at 4 p.m. Children can dress up in their costumes and trick or treat the businesses in a line like a parade on the sidewalks. The employees stand outside their business and pass out the candy. This will begin at Sunshine and go up Main Street and Story Street.
There are many things to choose from to get into the Halloween spirit with the family.
