Hear Christmas Concerts On KIWA-FM Beginning Wednesday Evening

band tromboneNorthwest Iowa — Christmas is less than a week away, and one of the most loved traditions of Christmas is the high school vocal and instrumental Christmas concert.  Once again this year, KIWA will be broadcasting the Christmas concerts of many area high schools, and colleges, along with other special Christmas programming, to help you get in the Christmas spirit.

This year’s concert schedule begins Wednesday (December 21st) at 6:00 pm when we’ll bring you the George-Little Rock High School Christmas Concert.  Following that, we’ll broadcast the Christmas concert from Central Lyon High School.

Thursday’s line-up consists of the Western Christian Music Department’s concert at 6:00 pm, followed at 7:00 by the concert by the musicians from Trinity Christian High School.

On Friday evening, we’ll hear Unity Christian’s concert at 6:00 pm, followed at 7:00 by the MOC-Floyd Valley band and choir concert.

Our special programming for Christmas Eve begins Saturday morning at 9:00 am with the Boyden-Hull holiday concert.  At 10:00 am Saturday, we’ll broadcast the Rock Valley Music Department’s Christmas Concert.  Beginning at noon Saturday we’ll bring you “A Mannheim Steamroller Christmas”, followed at 4:30 pm by the Christmas Eve service live from the sanctuary of St. Paul Lutheran Church in Sheldon.

We also have a full slate of concert broadcasts on Christmas day, beginning at 10:00 am with the Dordt College concert.  At 1:00 pm we’ll bring you the South O’Brien band and choir concert, followed at 2:00 by the Sibley-Ocheyedan Christmas concert.  At 3:00 pm Christmas afternoon we’ll bring you the band and choir concert from Hartley-Melvin-Sanborn, followed by the Sheldon High School Christmas concert at 4:00 pm Christmas afternoon.

We hope you enjoy these concerts and special programs, which will be broadcast on KIWA-FM 105.3 from Wednesday through Christmas day.
