Sheldon, Iowa — High school sophomores from Sheldon, Marcus-Meriden-Cleghorn/Remsen Union, and Hartley-Melvin-Sanborn had the opportunity to get an idea of jobs within and around O’Brien County for NCC Career Day on Friday.
Students got to tour businesses like Rosenboom, Maintainer, Ziegler Cat, White Wolf Web, SCAT, Sanford Sheldon, Sheldon Fire and Rescue, AgriVision, JTV, Prairie View, and DK Plastics starting at 8:40 a.m. with the tours running until about 2:30 p.m. throughout the day.
When not touring businesses, the students went to the Community Room at the Lifelong Learning and Recreation Center at NCC to talk one-on-one with representatives from the NCC nursing department, Cooperative Famers Elevator (CFE), Rosenboom, MercyOne, AgriVision, the Army National Guard, Beck Engineering Inc. (BEI), and KIWA radio.
The NCC Kitchen also provided a pizza lunch for the students.
