High-Visibility Traffic Enforcement Effort in Sioux County

Sioux County, Iowa — Recent traffic crashes, including two fatal crashes on two consecutive days, have prompted The Iowa State Patrol, Sioux County Sheriff’s Office and Iowa DOT Motor Vehicle Enforcement to team up for a high visibility enforcement project in Sioux County.

Iowa State Patrol Trooper Kevin Krull tells us more.

Trooper Krull says they selected Sioux County for the enforcement effort after studying crash information.

As of Thursday morning, there had been 76 fatalities on Iowa roads so far this year, which is up a staggering 22% from the same period of last year.

He says during this high-visibility enforcement period, and always, if you’ll just wear your seatbelt, put your phone down, slow down, and pay attention to the job of driving you won’t have to worry about seeing the flashing red and blue lights in your rearview mirror.
