Historic Arnolds Park To Construct New Preservation Plaza Stage

Arnolds Park, Iowa — Some new construction is set to begin later this year along the lakeshore at Arnolds Park Amusement Park.

Park officials have announced that they are the recipients of an anonymous leadership gift commitment to fund the construction of a new stage and amenities on Preservation Plaza. The new stage is planned for near the current stage with construction starting shortly after Labor Day this September.

Officials say the gift is one of the largest single donations that Historic Arnolds Park has ever received.   A three-phase capital fundraising project called “Restore the Park” has been ongoing for the last 4 years and has raised over $20 million in that time.  Those funds have been responsible for new parking lots, a complete renovation of the Majestic Pavilion, new restrooms, a new museum expansion, new construction of The Roof Garden Ballroom, a new carousel, a new Jumping Star ride, the return of the Wild Mouse ride, a new retail building, a train ride restoration, and multi-million-dollar infrastructure improvements.

Designs for the Preservation Plaza project will be finalized over the next few weeks with a timetable for completion being July 1, 2022.
