Hoftyzer Running For Sioux County Supervisor

Boyden, Iowa — A rural Boyden farmer has announced his intention to run for county supervisor of what will  be the new Sioux County 5th District in this November’s election.

The new district that Craig Hoftyzer seeks to represent will include the towns, of Hull, Boyden, Matlock and far western Sheldon, in addition to Hospers and Granville.

A lifelong resident, Hoftyzer currently serves as president of the board of directors of both Hospers Rural Water #1 and Farmer’s Coop Society. He was a pasts member of the board of directors of Coop Gas & Oil, Sioux County Extension Council, and has served as both Elder and Deacon of Christ Community Church in Sioux Center.

Hoftyzer says he’s had an interest in civics and the process of government ever since his late father-in-law, Representative Dwayne Alons, was elected to the legislature back in 1998. He says with an open position in the new Sioux County Supervisors 5th District, he feels running for the seat is a good way for him to become even more involved and he says he looks forward to the opportunity to serve the people of Sioux County if they choose to elect him.

Hoftyzer and his wife, Kristin, have three children and farm south of Boyden.
