Holiday Special Traffic Enforcement Period Set To Begin Friday

Northwest Iowa — With the Christmas and New Years holidays coming up, it’s not a surprise that law enforcement agents will be out in force trying to keep people safe on the roads by enforcing the law and removing impaired drivers from the road.

What you may not be expecting, is that the enforcement wave starts already this Friday. Iowa State Patrol Trooper Kevin Krull tells us more.


He says the December figures for operating while intoxicated are very “sobering.” Pun not necessarily intended.


He gives us some tips to stay alive and keep others alive on the road.


Krull says there have been over 1000 motor vehicle fatalities in Iowa this year alone, and it’s time for drivers to think.
