Hospers Man Charged For Decade-Old Child Sex Crimes

Sheldon, Iowa — A Hospers man is charged with multiple sex-related crimes following his arrest by Sheldon Police Sunday.

According to a release from the Sheldon Police Department, the charges against 64-year-old James Stephen Hanno are in connection with events that allegedly occurred more than a decade ago.

The charges include: multiple counts 3rd Degree Forcible Sexual Abuse, which are Class C Felonies; multiple counts of Indecent Contact with a Child, which are Aggravated Misdemeanors; and 1st Degree Harassment, which is also an Aggravated Misdemeanor.

According to online court records, Hanno has been ordered to have no contact with his alleged victim.

He’s scheduled for a Preliminary Hearing at 2:00 pm on Thursday March 31st, in O’Brien County Magistrate Court.
