Sheldon, Iowa — Christmas came early this year for the Hospers woman who won a brand new, 4-wheel drive, Ford F-150 pickup truck from the Sheldon Hy-Vee.
Sheldon Hy-Vee Store Director, Jerad Welter, announced the name of the truck winner Thursday afternoon.
Welter says Howrey, a regular customer of the Sheldon Hy-Vee, was incredibly excited when he contacted her to tell her she had won.
Welter called the truck giveaway a “thank you’ to the store’s regular customer, thanking them for their business.
The Sheldon Hy-Vee was one of 27 stores in the grocery giant’s chain to giveaway a pickup to one of their customers, with each store giving away their own truck. Welter says he particularly liked the fact that somebody who physically shopped in the Sheldon store during the promotion would win the truck the Sheldon store had to give away.
The truck giveaway promotion began in early September, and entries into the drawing were done by swiping your Hy-Vee Fuel Plus Perks Card, one entry for each time you purchased something from the store. Each of the 27 Hy-Vee stores participating in the promotion gave away a truck of their own. 27 stores taking part, with 27 trucks being given away.
The bright red Ford F-150 that Howrey drove away had a sticker price of about $38-thousand.
