Hot Dogs & Corn Dogs Recalled

hot dog_sxcNorthwest Iowa — A Phoenix, Arizona based food processor has issued a voluntary recall of some of their products.

Bar-S Foods Company says the recall of five of their hot dog and corn dog products is due to possible contamination with Listeria monocytogenes.  They say no illnesses have been reported in association with any of the recalled products, and the recall is strictly a precautionary measure.

According to Bar-S Foods, the ready-to-eat, chicken and pork hot dog and corn dog items were produced July 10th through the 13th.  Recalled items include 16 and 12 ounce packages of BUN LENGTH Franks MADE WITH CHICKEN, PORK ADDED with a use by date of October 10th and 11th of this year and 24, 42.72 and 48 ounce cartons of Honey Batter Dipped Franks On A Stick with use by dates of April 6th, 8th and 9th of 2017.

Bar-S urges consumers who have purchased these products to not consume them.  They say these products should be thrown away or returned to the place of purchase.

More information about the recall is available on the Bar-S web site at www.bar-s.com or by calling the Bar-S Foods Consumer Hotline at 1-888-965-6134.

Sheldon officials with both Hy-Vee and Fareway say neither of their stores received any of the recalled products.
